Capoeira Team Luxembourg uses capoeira as a cultural, educational, and social tool in Luxembourg and beyond.
Capoeira has been used as a means of integration in several projects led with schools, associations, and communities, especially for children from disadvantaged families.
Since 2015-2016, the association has taken part in refugee integration projects through capoeira, in collaboration with actors such as the Red Cross, Caritas, ASTM, and the Ministry of Justice.
These projects allow participants to meet other capoeiristas, join a community, and experience powerful moments during rodas and graduation ceremonies.
Since 2010, the association has supported the promotion of capoeira in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Central African Republic. In 2016, Mestre Pelezinho supervised the first Capoeira Congo batizado.
In July 2019, the association organized the first Grand Capoeira Batizado in Bangui, Central African Republic, with the support of UNICEF and UNFPA-CAR.
Capoeira supports physical well-being, self-esteem, motivation, and engagement in sports, artistic, and collective activities.
